The Wild Red Rose, new and improved design of it’s sister pattern Slow Motion shawl, is made in a classic rectangular shape but narrower and longer to wear it as a scarf. In addition to this, it is made in a looser gauge as well as in a finer weight yarn, which is more suitable for warmer seasons. Also, this pattern incorporates more advanced knitting techniques such as a provisional cast on, picots and a picot bind-off. The reversible openwork stitch pattern used in this design is made by combining the rib stitch and eyelet stitch patterns in one; and an overall wave pattern is done by alternating the right leaning and left leaning columns of the rib/eyelet stitch patterns. The resulting fabric looks its best after wet blocking with pins, which is essential in making an airy and light open fabric.

This pattern is suitable for intermediate level knitter.
Techniques used in this design: yo, k2tog, ssk, provisional cast on, picots and picot bind off.
