Growing up near the Mississippi River and in Minnesota, the “Land of 10,000 Lakes”, I have been in love with the water for as long as I can remember. I love nothing better than taking my kayak out on one of the breathtakingly beautiful rivers and soaking in the hidden secrets along the shorelines. The beauty lies not just in the flow of the water and the rapids it creates, but also in the wildlife that calls the river their home. This scarf is my tribute to the rocky shores, wind-dimpled sky blue waters, and the wild gifts they are always waiting to give us.

Wild River Scarf is the perfect introduction to knitting with charts if that is new for you. The pattern repeats are easily memorized, making this the perfect project for gift giving, travel knitting, or watching TV.

Knit up YOUR unique version in blues to evoke the waves of your favorite river, cream for a slightly Aran look, or red for some real punch!

The scarf uses approximately 600 yards / 549 meters of DK weight yarn and is knit on US size 6 (4.0 mm) 24”/60cm straight or circular needle, or size required to obtain gauge. The finished scarf is approximately 11 in. by 65 in. (28cm by 165cm), but feel free to knit to your desired length! (just be sure to buy additional yarn!)
