Wild Roses Shawl
This shawl was inspired by the beautiful and hardy wild roses that stud the roadsides around our home. We gather the hips in the autumn, and enjoy their cheerful blooms in the Spring.
The shawl is worked sideways, in garter stitch, with slipped edges for smooth lines, and little points of lace edging roses.
I’ve included in the pattern instructions for a wee kerchief version and a big cozy oversized version like my Billet Doux Shawl along with the instructions for the sample in the photos.
I used Ulysse by De Rerum Natura, a light and springy Merino woollen spun from France. The colorway is Eucalyptus a cozy and mild blue green that I dearly love.
