Wild Sea Waltz
The Wild Sea Waltz is an abundantly-sized triangle shawl knit in stormy Boro blue and salty Serenade, but any pair of highly contrasting colors will yield beautiful results.
It’s made using a simple slipped stitch colorwork technique that’s easy to memorize and follow. The rhythmic slip pattern is constant throughout, and the color progression flows through a melting alternation sequence for balanced movement across the piece.
Yarn:
2 skeins of Boro & 2 skeins of Serenade on Barker Wool BFL Fingering
Finished Measurements: approx. 72” wide x 32” deep.
Needles: US size 7 (4.5mm) on a 24-32” cable.
Gauge: 24 STS x 32 rows = 4” x 4” in pattern
Most of Color 1 gets used, so gauge is important to ensure adequate yardage.
Additional Equipment: 4 stitch markers
