Anyone for tennis?
This crochet market bag has scored the name Wildcard in reference to tennis. Quite simply, the bobbles and mesh sections are reminiscent of tennis balls and netting!
The bag is constructed by making a square of mesh and bobble stripes. Stitches are then worked around the outside of the square to gather it into a bag shape, complete with straps.
Has both US & UK terminology.
King Cole; Cottonsoft DK, 100% cotton,100g/210m/229yds:
2 balls in Oyster (Main Colour)
1 ball in Black (Contrast Colour)
I used 143 grams (301m/329 yds) of Oyster and 56 grams (118m/129yds) of Black. If using different contrasting colours, allow approx 10 grams per stripe of colour. There are 6 bobble sections.
4mm hook (US G-6).
Stitch markers are not essential but very useful to mark beg of shaping rows/rounds.
Main square before shaping measures approx: 51 x 53 cm / 20 x 21 inches unblocked.
