Wildland is a shawl inspired by my happy place. In Wisconsin, I had a giant puff chair by our big picture window. Behind our house was a little patch of wildland. Hawks, seagulls, and birds of all kinds soared in the towering pines and long grass was allowed to grow free and untamed. It was beautiful and calming at any hour of the day, but in that hour before twilight my little patch of wild would turn magical. The sun cast a golden glow over the whole scene. Colors were more vibrant. The whole place just felt so alive.
When I saw the saturated greens and gold of the Life in the Long Grass Singles, I knew I had to try to capture the magic of that golden hour so I could wrap it around my shoulders whenever I needed a little extra calm or courage.

Some interesting shaping, a lot of garter, textured slipped stitches, and a faded marl all come together to create the soothing (with a hit of spice) knit that is Wildland.
