The garter diamond lace in this top reminds me of the beautiful, elaborate patterns that appear on the skin of venomous snakes. In homage to these fascinating and dangerous creatures, I’ve named this pattern for herpetologist Grace Olive Wiley, the first scientist to successfully breed rattlesnakes in captivity. This easy-to-knit, easy-to-wear top will become like a second skin you never wish to shed.

Sizes: 32 (36.5, 41, 45.5, 50) inch bust
Gauge: Appx 32 sts & 60 rows to 6” in lace patt after blocking

Materials:
• Size 6 circular needle, 32” circumference for body
• Oink Pigments Targhee Sock, 2 (3, 3, 4, 4) skeins, or approximately 775 (900, 1050, 1225, 1400) yards of
fingering weight yarn
• Spare circular needle for holding stitches
• Darning needle
• Size F crochet hook

Shown in size 41 with 2 inches negative ease on Helena (short hair, glasses) or 4 inches positive ease on Kathrine (long hair).
Intended to be worn with no ease, but the stretchy lace fits well with up to 2 inches of either positive or negative ease (it’s a little big on Kathrine).
