Wilfred the Whale
This huggable whale makes an adorable gift for a child (or for
your inner child). He is simple and quick to make with a large
hook and just one skein of bulky, washable yarn.

Knit Picks Biggo 50% superwash merino wool, 50% nylon;
110yds / 101m per 100g skein; color: Wonderland Heather;
1 skein
Small amount (approx 1 yd / 1m) of black yarn for mouth
US size K/10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hook, or size needed to obtain
gauge
Stitch marker
2 black, size 15 mm safety eyes or doll joints

Rnds 1–5 = 3¾“ / 9.5cm in diameter
Pattern Notes
Wilfred’s Body is worked in a spiral, starting with an
adjustable ring. Do not join rounds. Side fins are made
separately (also worked in a spiral starting with an adjustable
loop) and later stitched onto body. Tail fin is worked back and
forth in rows and then stitched to body. Turning chains do not
count as a stitch.
