This sweater was born out of the realisation that arrows could form a striking but simple pattern. It’s a simple pullover with some short row neck shaping, some stranded colourwork, and knit seamlessly from the top down.

My sample was knit in the smallest size, using Dale Falk, a sports weight wool yarn (106m/50 g) in the colours 3418 (burnt orange), 0083 (charcoal grey), 1311 (golden yellow) and 0007 (grey). The girl in the pictures is a size 2T.

The sizes are based on measurements, easiest is to measure around the body just under the armpits of a sweater that fits well.

Sizes avaliable are:
1 – 60 cm
2 – 66 cm
3 – 72 cm
4 – 78 cm
but I give a chart of numbers helpful if you want to calculate your own size and gauge, to make this pattern work with different weight yarns.

I don’t give any lengths, since children and preferences vary.

The pattern is not for absolute beginners, you need to be able to work from basic instructions and charts and do a bit of independent thinking. That said, it’s not difficult, and I always do my best to help if needed.

Required skills include short rows, m1, stranded colourwork, temporary cast on and picking up held stitches.

Big thanks to my testers Jean, Amanda and Rochelle, and Allison and young E for the pictures and modelling.
