Materials needed :

Yarn - Approx 65 yards of bulky weight or 130 yards of worsted weight
Hook - U.S. I/5.5 mm
Needle
Optional - thread that matches your yarn color. I just use the yarn.
Two buttons approx 3/4” - 1”

This is such a quick project! It is perfect for market prep or a last minute gift. The buttons slip through the existing stitches, making the size adjustable and there are no button holes to make. With it buttoned, as in the photo, it should fit a 21”- 23” head, tighten it and re-button it for a size smaller size (20’-22”). For a larger size(22”-24”), only use the button closest to the end. Your finished headband should measure approximately 23 1/2” long and 3 3/4” wide.
It can be made with 65 yds of bulky weight 5 yarn or 130 yds of 2 strands of worsted weight yarn. Two strands of aran weight 4 yarn will work, but you may have to make adjustments to meet gauge and it will make for a stiffer fabric.
The pattern uses the herringbone double crochet and the foundation half double crochet at the end of a row of stitches. There are written step by step instructions for both.
