The Willow Cardigan is a timeless, top-down raglan design that beautifully captures the elegance of willow trees, with lace detailing inspired by their gracefully hanging branches. This versatile pattern offers three collar options—classic, edge, and crochet—so you can choose the style that best suits your taste. For the crochet edge, a 5/0 (3mm) crochet hook is recommended.

I’ve created this cardigan using three different yarn combinations, but as long as your gauge matches, feel free to select the yarn that you love and that feels perfect against your skin. This cardigan is designed to be worn open, without buttons, for a relaxed and effortless look.

You can choose your size depending on the desired fit. I recommend to wear it with 3-10cm positive ease. check also the circumference of the sleeve.
Some yarn, especially dk weight merino yarn tends to pull together whilst knitting the willow stitch pattern. It grows a lot through the blocking process. if you rather want to try your garment whilst knitting to have a right feeling, I recommend to use a sock yarn with 1 thread of silkmohair or in double silkmohair. But normally you will get a feeling when you are knitting your swatch.

The yardage is calculated on rather “cropped “ length. If you want to make the body longer, you will need more yarn.
