Do you want to make cute socks with sock yarn, thin enough to wear inside a shoe but can’t (or don’t want to have to) knit?
These crew socks take 400yds of a sock weight yarn for the pair and are worked in the round from the toe up to the cuff. The pattern is written for womens sizes 6-8 but, because it’s worked from the toe up and in the round, it’s easily adjustable for larger sizes. There are notes for adjustment and customization throughout so you can make these socks fit just the way you like. (Note: Adding rounds will increase the amount of yarn necessary to make your pair.)
The toe and heel are worked with front-post double crochets to add reinforcement, while the rest of the sock is worked in double and half-double crochets to keep the sock thin so you may wear them in your regular shoes.
As always, if you have any questions or problems with the pattern, please let me know and we will work together to figure it out.
Yarn featured is Sweet Pea and Sparrow 85% merino, 15% nep sock weight yarn in color Grandpa’s Socks.
