Willow Leaves
by Pat Menchini
A hip-length or tunic-length jerkin or gilet, i.e. a long cardigan with cap sleeves which are worked as part of the front and back pieces. It is round-necked, and the front has a ribbed edging which is buttoned. Striking features are the cabled vertical stripes on the body of the garment, ending in shell-like patterns around the hem, and a fairly big picot edging to the hem.
The pattern requires 9-12 x 50g balls of the recommended yarn, a cable needle and 3 large buttons.
There is no stitch diagram or chart, but there are two photo tutorials: how to sew on a button; how to do C8F and C8B cable stitches.
