The Willow is the tree most associated with the moon, water, the Goddess and all that is feminine. It is the tree of dreaming, intuition and deep emotions, symbolizing the beginning of spring, when all of life is stirring below and begins to shoot outwards once again.
The scarf is knit lengthwise in one piece. A chart is included for the Willow Leaf edging and is an easy 8 row repeat, while the body of the scarf is knit in Linen Stitch and easily memorized.
For a shawlette, a second skein of the MC is needed to increase the width in the linen stitch section.
