Willow Ptarmigan Headband
This design is inspired by the Taiga eco-region where myself and the Willow Ptarmigans live. The green thread represents all the reindeer lichen that grows on the forest floor, the grey background represents the lack of sunlight in the winter, the red represents the willows that grow throughout the landscape, and the white Ptarmigans which are a winter resident of the area!
Three sizes are included in the pattern and 5.0 mm 40cm/16in circular knitting needles are used. Requires catching of floats. You can change the shade of red for a more contrasted look.
