Welcome to willow sweater
The Willow Sweater is a classic, top-down raglan design that showcases lacework inspired by the graceful, cascading branches of willow trees. The V-neckline is elegantly finished with an I-cord edging, adding a refined touch to this timeless piece.
The sleeves are designed with a bit of positive ease, offering a feminine and relaxing fit. The circumference remains consistent until just before the cuff, which is tapered for a snug and easy wear. The focus of this design is all about clean lines and a cohesive aesthetic.
Size
1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6)
Finished circumference of the sizes
88 (96) 106 (112) 120 (128) cm
36 (39) 43 (45) 38 (52) ‘’
You can choose your size depending on the desired fit. I recommend to wear it with 3-10cm positive ease. check also the circumference of the sleeve.
Some yarn, especially dk weight merino yarn tends to pull together whilst knitting the willow stitch pattern. It grows a lot through the blocking process. if you rather want to try your garment whilst knitting to have a right feeling, I recommend to use a sock yarn with 1 thread of silkmohair or in double silkmohair. But normally you will get a feeling when you are knitting your swatch.
Gauge
20 sts x 25 rows in willow pattern in 4mm needles
Yardage
1260 (1350) 1500 (1550) 1700 (1850)m if you use double silk mohair
if you use just one thread of yarn which meets the gauge, you will need just half the yardage.
You would need 150 (!60) 180 (190) 200 (220)g
640 (675) 750 (775) 850 (925)m
The yardage is calculated on rather “cropped “ length. If you want to make the body longer, you will need more yarn.
