This long, narrow crescent shawl is worked from the bottom up, using only very simple stitches. The willow wave lace edging is knit first, then the body is worked by short rows and finished with a ribbing border. There are no wraps & turns to deal with, and the row-by-row decreases are what gradually give the shawl its crescent shape.

Sizes:
S (M, L) = Scarf (Shawlette, full-sized Shawl). The three sizes are worked exactly the same, with only the depth of the lace portion varying.

All sizes about 48-50” (122-127 cm) wide, after blocking.
Depth at center:
Scarf: 15” (38 cm)
Shawlette: 19.5” (49.5 cm)
Shawl: 24” (61 cm)

Materials:

• fingering/sock yarn, about 462 (693, 924) yards
• size US 7 (4.50mm) needles – circular works best
• stitch markers
