The bouncy tune of Paul McCartney’s English Garden provides the perfect background music for this knit.

This pattern was first released in Sep 2020 as a mystery knit-along pattern under the name: “WW2020 Mystery KAL”.

Pattern Notes
Beginning with a provisional cast on, this project is initially worked flat. Stitches are then picked up around the centre panel and work continues in the round.

Both charts and written directions for charts are provided.

Size
50 x 50” / 127 x 127cm.
Centre panel only: 24 x 24” / 61 x 61cm.

Yarn
2173 yds / 1987m worsted-weight yarn.
Sample used Lion Brand Fishermen’s Wool (worsted; 100% wool; 465yds / 425m per 227g) in Natural.

• Pattern contains a table showing yarn amounts required for various elements of the pattern in case knitters wish to use multiple colours.

Needles

• 4.5mm / US 7 circular needles 60” / 152cm and 120” / 305cm long or size required to obtain gauge.
• 4.5mm / US 7 DPN or same size as gauge needle (optional – used for bind off only).

Gauge
16 sts and 24 rows = 4” / 10cm in Stockinette stitch, blocked.

Notions
Cable needle, waste yarn or extra circular needle for provisional cast on, stitch markers, yarn needle.

Feb 10, 2021: V1.2 of Clue 12 was sent out today correcting an error in the Written Directions for the chart only. In Row 15, the “SL1b” should read “SL1”.
