The fringed willowherb is a petite beauty that grows wild in Alaska. I look forward to seeing its delicate flowers along riverbanks in the summer; adding them to a winter earwarmer is sure to brighten a snowy day! The headband is knit first and then the small flowers are added on using simple embroidery techniques. Instructions are provided in both written and charted formats.

The headband sizing is customized to your head circumference. The finished headband is 3.7” (9.4 cm) wide.

The small flowers are embroidered on with fingering-weight yarn after the headband is finished. You only need 4.5 yds/5 m of fingering weight yarn in your desired flower color. The technique is very easy, and a tutorial link is provided!
