5 mm needles after blocking.
Needles: 5 mm / US 8 circular needle, 100 cm / 40” length AND knitting needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round.
4 mm / US 6 circular needle, 100 cm / 40” length AND knitting needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round.
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.
Note: You may need to go up a needle size to achieve gauge for colourwork pattern, depending on your knitting style.
Notions: 2 stitch markers, scrap yarn, tapestry needle
Notes: Willowwood is knit bottom up in the round, then the front and back are separated at the underarm before working neck and shoulder shaping. Shoulders are finished with a 3-needle cast off. Stitches are picked up around the armhole for the sleeves and at the neckband for the collar. The sleeves are dropped, so measure arm
circumference approximately 10 cm / 4” from the underarm to ensure the sleeve opening will fit comfortably.
