Wilma Worry Worm
A worry worm is meant to be a comforting fidget toy that children can tell concerns and secrets to, and can hide in their pocket and squeeze and hold on to if things get scary or difficult.
This little worry worm is a quick and easy make, and perfect for using scraps. It can be made with different types of yarn, but with the suggested yarn and hook, the worm measures approx. 7 cm/ 2 ¾”
height, 2.5 cm/1” width of head.
The worm is worked continuously in three rounds/rows, and uses the following stitches: sc, magic ring, hdc, dc, sl st, ch. The pattern is both written and charted.
Materials:
- 1-2 grams yarn (8 ply/DK, 50 gr = 100 m)
- Hook size 3.5 mm
- Darning needle
The Worry Worm Poem:
“I’m your little worry worm,
keep me near and sqeeze me tight.
Tell me your worries and everything will be alright.”
