Notes
This design is knit in 2 separate front panels (Right and Left), which are joined at the neck and continued down the back, as one piece. If you prefer less lacework for more coverage or warmth, you can substitute any of the 21st Sections for Stk st. Just knit those 21st Sections on the RS and purl those 21sts on the WS, instead of working the Chart Rows.
The Double Herringbone Mesh Stitch is sampled from Barbara Walker’s A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns.
Rose Phillips Wilson was a remarkable woman. She came to Sarasota in 1899 and founded its first newspaper, The Sarasota Times. Among many accomplishments, she was a founding member of a group that became the Woman’s Club of Sarasota in 1913. She was instrumental in helping local women register to vote, being one of the first two to do so (Alice Guenther was the other).
There are a set of patterns named after this trailblazer, Rose Scarf, Phillips Wrap, and Wilson Ruana.
When you add all three patterns (Rose, Phillips, and Wilson) to your cart, they will be discounted to total of $12.00. Past purchases will count towards this discount.
