This is the second hat I designed for my husband, who wanted a Fair Isle hat, but didn’t like any pattern I could find. Just like the first one I made for him, Sean’s Loki Toque, he picked the Fair Isle Motif from Mary Jane Muckelstone’s 200 Fair Isle Motifs. The swirl pattern reminded him of the wind. It is knit the same yarn, SMC Select Extra Soft Merino, an incredibly soft merino, which gives it crisp color contrast and a little bit of stretch. The hat fits close to the head, and is also very warm.

NOTE: This hat was knit in a smaller size than the Loki Toque, he wanted a closer fitting hat. It has a lot of stretch and will fit a variety of people
