Wind spinner ball
This is a pattern for a windspinner in the shape of a ball. It includes written instructions and some pictures. It also includes a short explanation on how to make it into the doubled version.
The difficulty level is intermediate.
The stitches and (US-) terms used in this pattern are:
- mc = magic circle
- ch = chain
- sc foundation chain = a chain of sc stitches
- sc = single crochet
- slst = slipstitch
- hdc = half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sc (or hdc, dc etc. ) incr = 2 sc (or hdc, dc etc.) in the same stitch
- flo = frontloop only
I used acrylic yarn (295 m/ 322 yards per 100 gram) in 6 different colors and a 3.5 mm hook.
With this yarn the spinner will be about 7,5 cm/3.5 inches across, a little over 5 cm/ 2 inches high, when finished.
You can use other yarn thicknesses if you like.
About 25 meters of yarn in total should be enough for a single ballspinner. The doubled version requires about 50 meters of yarn.
Apart from that you need a bit of weight, like a metal washer or keyring or some beads, and a cord for hanging the windspinner. The cord can also be a single strand of your yarn.
