Wind spinner eggshaped
This is a written pattern for a windspinner that has the shape of an egg when laying flat. It gives a nice extra visual effect while spinning in the wind.
The level is advanced beginner. This pattern is just a bit more intricate than most windspinner patterns.
The (US-)terms used in this pattern are:
- foundation chain (a chain of chainstitches can be used instead)
- ch = chain
- yoslst = yarnover slipstitch
- sc = single crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
- incr = increase
For this windspinner I used acrylic yarn (Stylecraft Special dk or Scheepjes colourcrafter) which is 295 m/322 yards per 100 gram, and hooksize 3.5 .
I needed about 75 meters/82 yards of yarn, in 8 different colors.
My spinner was about 45 cm/17.7 inches long and almost 12 cm/4.7 inches by 10 cm/4 inches when laying flat.
You can use other yarn if you like. The spinner can be bigger or smaller in that case.
Other materials you need:
-A small weight for hanging under the windspinner.
-A thread for hanging the windspinner. You can use nylon thread, but you can also use a single string of the yarn you used for the windspinner itself.
! Note that the item hanging under the windspinner shown is not part of this pattern.
Have fun with this windspinner!
