Windchill Warning Beanie is the complementary hat pairing for the Windchill Warning Dickie, part of the Friluftsliv Cowl Collection.

The beanie is worked from the bottom up and features Mistake Rib and Thorn Stitch. Knit in buttery soft, super bulky Malabrigo Rasta yarn, it provides cozy warmth on the chilliest days and knits up in a flash. It is sized from Baby/Toddler through Adult XL. The pattern includes a chart with dimensions, head circumference, and recommended ease to help select the right size.

Friluftsliv (pronounced free-loofts-liv) is a Scandinavian term that translates to “open air living.” Embracing the concept that there is no bad weather, only inadequate clothing choices, I designed the Windchill Warning set to add “maker joy” to heading out in cold weather. Bundle up and enjoy the fresh air!

Windchill Warning Dickie and Beanie are meant to maximize yarn efficiency. For most sizes, the set (hat & cowl) can be made without modifications from three skeins of Malabrigo Rasta, two of color 1 (tonal) and one of color 2 (contrast). The largest sizes could require modifying color placement.

Additional gauge information is included in the pattern. There are also links to video tutorials. This pattern has been professionally tech edited and tested.
