This lace shawl begins with a seed stitch neck tab and is worked top down. The neck border continues down each side of the shawl to create a beautiful seed stitch edge.

After the increases are completed the lace is worked with no additional increases. During the lace portion of the shawl all wrong side rows are purl across the complete row, except the seed stitch edge. This shawl is seamless, so there is no sewing.

The pattern includes a link to a tutorial for adding beads, instead of stringing before beginning. If you do not want beads the shawl can be knit without adding the beads. The pattern includes a chart to use if you knit without beads.

The lace in the pattern is charted with bead placement, and the full pattern is written, line by line. If you don’t like charts this shawl can be knit totally without using the charts.
