Winding Roads
The Winding Roads scarf is a reminder of the many people and pathways weaving in and out of our lives. A long stretch of winding roads from one end of the scarf to the other.
The winding is created by in- and decreases and the main ‘roads’ are separated with the minor roads created by twisted stitches. Worked in a light finger ring weight yarn this scarf is ideal for the change of seasons, to warm your neck or to throw around your shoulders on a cool summer night.
The pattern is one-size measuring 30-35 cm / 12-14” wide and 156-158 cm / 61½” long, when blocked. You can however easily add length or breath by adding extra pattern repeat of 14 sts and 36 rows.
Gauge: 28 sts and 36 rows on needles 3.25 (US 3) in pattern.
The design uses 130g / 910m (995 yards) Coast, 55% wool, 45% cotton light fingering weight, 350m (387 yards)/50g from Holst Garn. www.holstgarn.dk.
Sample is shown in color: Ivory
Winding Roads will be beautiful in any color or in a hand died yarn. Maybe check out your stash to find something suitable.
Enjoy.
