This is a substantial scarf good for men or women. As written, it is 14” wide, but is easily adapted to make narrower.

I used a no-name, fingering weight alpaca that was sold by the ounce, held doubled for this. It would work fine with a dk or sportweight yarn or fingering held doubled.

Total scarf took about 600 yards using it doubled (1200 yards total, but held doubled). That includes copious amounts of fringe.
