Windspinner rainbow tapered
This is a written pattern for a crochet windspinner that is tapered on both ends and thus wider in the middle.
An advanced beginner should be able to make this windspinner, if needed by swapping some more difficult stitches for the more common stitches.
The finished size is, depending on the yarn used, about 30 cm/ 12 inches long and 12.25 cm/ 4.8 inches across at the widest part of the spinner.
You need for this windspinner:
-Yarn:
For acrylic yarn like Stylecraft special dk or Scheepjes colourcrafter (about 295 m/ 322 yards per 100 gram) I used hooksize 3.5.
I needed about 45 meters/ 49 yards of this yarn.
I also made one with cotton yarn (125 m per 50 grams) and hooksize 3.0.
The cotton version used up about 55 meters/ 60 yards of yarn.
I used 7 different colors of yarn, one for each row, starting with red.
-Some weight to hang under the windspinner, like a few beads or a small crochet item. (Note that the flower under one of the shown windspinners is NOT included in this pattern. I plan on making a separate pattern for that later.)
