Windstorm
“Windstorm” is a simple shawl in Half Brioche, with 8 lines of increases/ decreases shaping a wave-like texture.
If you would like to try out Half Brioche, this is the perfect beginner’s project - not too challenging, but never boring.
(By the way, this is nearly the same pattern as used for the back of my “Sandstorm” cardigan which will be published in April 2020.)
Sizes
The shawl can be worked at different gauges - therefor, 3 sizes are described in the pattern (with a width of 97 sts, 119 sts, 135 sts).
It is very flexible in length and yarn usage, too, because you can end after any number of vertical repeats (12-20cm per repeat, depending on size and gauge).
Yarn
Depending on gauge and the size you pick, you will need 1300-1900m.
For the Half Brioche waves to unfold, choose an elastic yarn which has some volume - I would recommend pure wool (i.e. no linen, cotton).
Ruppert Garne Noble with 2 strands held together is perfectly suited - but if you are the super-sensitive type, you could treat yourself with the softness of 30% Cashmere of Ruppert Garne Lacashmi …
Special promotion until Eastern 2020: If you buy the yarn at Ruppert Garne, you will get the pattern for free - just let Sabine know in the purchase notes that you need a coupon code.
The last image shows the Noble shades which are currently available - the sample was worked in “Blue Stone”.
The Lacashmi sample was worked with 1 strand of “Powder” and 1 strand of “Porridge”. Lacashmi has too many shades to be shown on 1 single photo …
