Bulky and Super Bulky yarn can vary in thickness. This pattern was designed using Marisol Ushya yarn which is 114 yards/100g, which is on the lighter side of the super bulky range. If you are substituting yarn you can use YarnSub.com or aim for something in the 100-130 yards/100g.

If you tend to crochet very tightly I would use a larger hook (7mm+). The stitches are meant to be tight, but if you are struggling to get the hook into the stitches with the super bulky use a larger hook.

The length of the hat depends on fit/ personal preference.
