WINE COZY
Makes a great gift. Give someone more than a bottle of wine, given them a bottle of wine in a beautiful, reusable wine cozy.

Materials:

Needles: size 8 DPNs, small (16-inch) size 7 circular needle (optional)

Yarn: Medium worsted weight (wool, cotton, any fabric). This is a great project for scrap yarn.

Directions:

Cast on 4 stitches onto 1 DPN

Round 1: kfb each stitch, transferring each stitch onto its own DPN (you will have 4 DPNs, each with 2 stitches on it) – 8 stitches

Join for knitting in the round, being careful not to twist stitches. I place different colored markers between the stitches on each DPN to keep track of the order. Be sure to mark the start of round.

Round 2: kfb, k1 (12 stitches)

Round 3: kfb, k2 (16 stitches)

Round 4, kfb, k3 (20 stitches)

Round 5, kfb, k4 (24 stitches)

Round 6, kfb, k5 (28 stitches)

Round 7, kfb, k6 (32 stitiches)

Round 8, kfb, k7 (36 stitches)

Round 9, kfb, k8 (40 stitches)

Round 10, kfb, k9 (44 stitches)

Round 11, kfb, k10 (48 stitches)

Round 12, kfb, k11 (52 stitches)

Round 15, p around

Round 16, k around

Continue all k until 7 inches from purls. After 10 knit rows, you can transfer to a 16-inch circular needle (size 7). Place marker at start of round.

K2, p2 for 5 inches

Bind off: knit all knits, purl all purls
