Here is a fun, quick and practical item you can make for Mother’s Day or any occasion. This wine glass coaster works well at protecting your furniture and also makes it easy to identify your wine glass at parties and get-togethers.

I made my coaster using a 4.5 mm hook and light weight cotton remnants in three colors, and therefore am unable to specify the exact amount of yarn needed for this project. You could use any yarn you like, and may find that #3 weight or fingering weight yarns work best. Use whatever hook works best for your chosen yarn and make sure that each motif is worked to the same size.
