Wing Edging Scarf
This design was inspired by tiny booklets with knitting annotations in the Gawthorpe Textiles Collection. It can be worked in a heavy wool for winter and a light weight wool for a summer version.
MATERIALS
Winter Scarf
• 3 x 50g hanks of Chunky weight yarn (based on 50m per 50g)
• 1 pair of 6mm (US10) knitting needles
Summer Scarf
• 2 x 50g hanks of DK weight yarn (based on 83m per 50g)
• 1 pair of 4mm (US6) knitting needles
TENSION
Winter Scarf
14 sts and 18 rows to 10cm/4in square over garter stitch using 6mm (US10) needles.
Summer Scarf
22 sts and 38 rows to 10cm/4in square over garter stitch using 4mm (US6) needles.
Use larger or smaller needles if necessary to obtain correct tension.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Length approx: 92cm/36¼in
Width at widest point: 17cm/6¾in
