Who doesn’t love the movie “Top Gun”? The action, the drama, the romance…The motif of this cowl reminds me of fighter jets blasting across the sky in a sunset backdrop. Create a background fade with two strands of fingering weight yarn held together or go Maverick and whip out stash yarn as your heart leads you!
Construction:
Cowl is provisionally cast on and knit in a tube. Colorwork is charted. Tube is twisted and seamed together with 3-Needle Bind Off, with the last few inches finished off with Kitchener Stitch to make a nearly invisible seam.
Size: one size
Gauge: 28 sts x 30 rounds = 4”/10cm in pattern, in the round and after blocking.
Measurements: 8.5”/21.5cm high, 28”/71cm circumference.
Yarn:
MC (Main Color): Fingering weight yarn, 2 strands held together in bright colors, CC (Contrast Color): Sport weight yarn in dark color.

MC (Main Color): Hedgehog Fibres Skinny Singles in colors Leibling, Harvest, Monarch, Rosehip, Juniper, Beach Bunny, Bramble.
Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in colors West Texas Sunset, Rebel Rainbow Rider.
CC (Contrast Color): Malabrigo Arroyo in color Azul Profundo (335yds/100g).

MC (Main Color): 620yds/155g fingering weight yarn, CC (Contrast Color): 285yds/85g sport weight yarn.
Suggested needles:
16 inch circular needle in US 6 or size needed to achieve gauge. Another 16 inch circular needle in same size or smaller size plus a third needle of similar size for 3 Needle Bind Off.
