Winged Monkey Amigurumi
The winged monkeys from L. Frank Baum’s 1900 masterpiece The Wonderful Wizard of Oz have captivated imaginations for generations. Cursed by a great sorceress, the winged monkeys must obey the owner of a beautiful golden cap and grant them three great deeds. The Wicked Witch of the West possesses the cap until it is won by Dorothy Gale, who eventually gives it to Glinda. The kind and beautiful sorceress gives the cap to the king of the winged monkeys so that they will never again be enslaved by anyone.
The original Winged Monkey was made with Big Twist Posh yarn (#5 Bulky) and a 4.5mm hook and measured 11” Long x 7” Tall x 5” Wide. It can be made using a variety of yarn and hook sizes, with varying results.
