“They planted fear, but we grew wings.” Inspired by the song “Sin Miedo” by Vivir Quintana, this sweater’s crystals represent the stars, each a woman whose life was tragically cut short. Despite the book’s aim to bring joy, this design is dedicated to the memory of all women who have been victims of femicide, emphasising the importance of awareness and remembrance. - Claudia

Yarn: 5 (5, 5, 6, 7) (8, 8, 9, 10) skeins of Sensai by Ito (60% mohair, 40% silk, 262 yds / 240 m – 20 g), colourway Charcoal.

Or approx. 1050 (1106, 1312, 1477, 1661) (1919, 2025, 2281, 2434) yds / 961 (1012, 1200, 1351, 1519) (1755, 1852, 2086, 2226) m of lace-weight silk mohair.

Needles: US 1 / 2.25 mm 24” / 60 cm circular needles and set of DPNs. US 1.5 / 2.5 mm 16” / 40 cm and 32” / 80 cm circular needles. US 5 / 3.75 mm spare needle, any length.

Notions: Size 14 / 0.5 mm crochet hook, or other preferred beading method. Removable stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle, 3 mm beads.

GAUGE
25 sts x 40 rows to 4” / 10 cm on US 1.5 / 2.5 mm needles in lace part, after blocking.
