Look no further for a generously sized scarf that is a delight to knit. Wingspan is my answer to the question, “How could making a long scarf be less tedious and more fun?” There are no back and forth rows here or complicated stitches. Cast on and knit the entire scarf in the round! With bouncy sock yarn and changing stitch patterns and colors, you can enjoy the process while knitting a scarf with light weight yarn. The resulting tube will be double thick and oh so cozy and lovely to wrap up in.

Wingspan is knit in two halves, so no need to manage the length of a continuous scarf - join two sets of live stitches in the center when complete. This also allows for creative color options! Make both halves alike as written, or switch up the placement of colors A, B, C & D on your second half for a mismatched look.

Wingspan uses only knit, purl and slipped stitches throughout. There are five different stitch patterns, and some repeat with a different color. Mosaic knitting in the round means no stranded color work and only one color worked per round. Easy and fun!

Use the included drawing sheet to plan out your color placement - duplicate it and color it in as many ways as you like until you settle on your favorite version. Feeling more adventurous? Gather up those leftover half skeins and make a scrappy Wingspan by using a different color for each stitch section.
