This is a surprisingly quick and easy cowl. The texture and pattern is created with dropped stitches so it looks like you worked much harder than you have to!

The pattern repeat is 10 stitches. It is very easy to adjust the width.

You use less than half a skein of the main color and most of the contrast color. We made one version (the blue one) 10 sts longer and on a size 10 needle and still had enough of the contrast color to finish it. If you want it longer, buy a second skein of the contrast color.

The cowl is knit flat from the bottom up. You split the main color into 2 skeins before starting and use the smaller skein to work the right hand side of the garter edge.

The button holes are made on both sides so you know exactly where to sew the buttons to line up with the functioning holes. If you decide to make it into a scarf, just skip the button holes.

The contrast color is a heavier weight kid seta and is held with 2 strands together. If you are using the lace weigh kid seta, hold 4 strands together. But the Schulana yarn is well worth the investment and already has the sparklies in place!
