Winter Bliss
There are so many ways to knit a hat for winter. My 5 year old requested a purple hat with a pom pom for kindergarten. It has been a joy designing and knitting these hats for my girls. I have also been intrigued with the travelling cable. It has been fun to use this concept in my different designs. I love how this cable travels around the hat. This is the my first design with a traveling cable on a hat!
This hat was designed from the bottom up, in the round and is seamless. The pattern is both completely written and charted. You can choose which method you want to use.
This pattern comes in 6 different sizes (finished circumference):
Baby: 14” (35.5 cm)
Toddler: 16 “ (40.5 cm)
Child: 17” (43 cm)
Adult S: 18” (45.5 cm)
Adult M: 19” (48 cm)
Adult L: 20” (51 cm)
The gauge for this pattern is 18 stitches x 24/26 rows = 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) in stockinette stitch. I have written the pattern for 2 different row gauges, as row gauge is important in this pattern.
This pattern was designed with Knit Picks Swish Worsted weight yarn. However, a similar yarn will also work..
Yardage:
Baby: 80 yrds / 72 m
Toddler: 90 yrds / 80 m
Child: 100 yrds / 90 m
Adult S: 120 yrds / 110 m
Adult M: 140 yrds / 126 m
Adult L: 150 yrds / 135 m
