Design and construction
This classic baby - child cardigan features a lovely “winter-blooming” lace-pattern, around the hem, and staggered towards the fronts, as well as along the fronts and on the sleeves.
The cardigan is straight, the raglan-shaping of the upper body ensures a great fit.
The cardigan is knit seamlessly from the bottom-up.
The body is worked back and forth to underarms.
The sleeves are worked in-the-round to underarms.
Pieces are joined, and upper body is worked in one piece.
Neckline is worked from picked-up and spared sts.
Button-bands are worked from picked-up sts.
I was so happy to find some tiny winter-blooms for the photographs! In the month of December they were showing off their lovely colours, and the most beautiful scent:)

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a sport weight yarn with great stitch-definition. I used the sport weight yarn,”Pashmina” from madelinetosh, to work the cardigan. This yarn comes in skeins of 329meters/360yards. You will need approximately 300/320/370/420/470/570 m/ 327/350/404/458/513/622 yards to work the cardigan. Yardage might vary from one knitter to another. Needles: Choose needle size to obtain gauge. I used needle size 3.5mm/US4, this is a suggestion only. For the lower body you might use a circular, or straight needles. For the upper body I recommend a circular needle. For the sleeves you might use a set of dpns. For the neckline and button-bands you can use a circular, or straight needles. Notions: 4 removable stitch-markers, separate holders, buttons 13-15mm/0.5-0.6” across.
Gauge
24 sts and 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”
