Hat is made using the Swedish twined knitting technique. This technique is both a lot of fun and slightly fussy. It has one essential principal -- you are using two strands of yarn and you ALWAYS cross or twist the yarns before every stitch. With two colors this is easier to see, as you will bring one across the other to work.

Twining causes a significant decrease in gauge, so that you will need many more sts to achieve the size desired.
