Winter Delights
Fingerless Mittens

The Winter Delights series was inspired by an early October snow storm that resulted in more than 4 feet of snow in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.

At first glance the body of the mitten appears to be a stranded knitting design, but it is actually worked using only one strand of yarn for each row. The contrast is achieved by alternating the main and a contrasting color for each row.

Size: S, M, L,
Fit hand size: 6 1/2 - 7 1/2”, 7 1/2 -
8 1/2”, 8 1/2 - 9”, measured around the knuckle area of the hand.

Material:
Yarn: Malabrigo Sock, 3.5oz, 440 yards.
Actual yardage used:
MC – Natural 50g
CC – Arbol 40g

Gauge: 32sts and 44 rows = 4” (10cm) in Eye of Partridge stitch.

Needles: US#4 /3.50mm DPNs.
US #2 / 2.75mm DPNs and circular needle.

Misc: 2 stitch markers, 1 locking stitch marker or safety pin, waste yarn for lifeline, tapestry needle, cable needle
