Winter Elf on a Shelf
A cute Winter Elf who can sit on the shelf until the children notice it and invite it to join in their play! If you make this little Christmas charmer, it is sure to be treasured for many years. I’d love to see your photos--please link to my pattern on your project page.
The pattern includes many photos to help you make this little elf for someone special. The legs, body, head and hat are knit in one piece then seamed up the centre back. The arms and trim are worked separately then sewn on.
Only small amounts of yarn are needed. I used worsted weight with 4 mm needles, and my Elves are about eleven and a half inches long. If you used fingering weight yarn and smaller needles, your elf would be a cute pocket pal. As with most toys, gauge is not critical--but it is important to work tightly so the stuffing doesn’t show.
Please ask for help if you don’t understand part of the pattern, and contact me if you find errors.
