From the pattern description:
This cloth is made with a crochet edging. If you would prefer a knit border, cast on an extra 6 or 8 stitches to make a 3 or 4 stitch border on each side of the cloth. Knit these stitches in garter stitch, they are not included in the body of the pattern description below. Also for the knit border after castitng on knit 4 rows of garter stitch and after finishing to desired length add 4 rows of garter stitch to finish the border.
