Winter Moss & Lace Wrap
Winter Moss and Lace Wrap is a generous sized rectangular wrap that features a zig-zag lace backbone through the middle of the wrap with a moss stitch frame.
Its three colours are intended to be similar, so the overall effect is a muted blend. However it would be just as successful knitted in colours with more contrast or even in a single colour.
The pattern can be worked from the written instructions or from the chart provided. Winter Moss and Lace Wrap also includes instructions for an optional i-cord edging.
This wrap would look great in any yarn, but is especially designed to showcase hand dyed yarn. You can easily customise this pattern from these instructions, making a wider or narrower wrap, or a shorter or longer wrap.
Any fingering or sock weight yarn can be used (approximately 14 wraps per inch).
The yarn used in the example shown is Notanotherhat hand dyed, upcycled fingering 100% merino.
Total yarn used: 407g = 1596m 1745yd.
Main colour (MC): 165g = 700m 765yd
Contrast colour one (CC1): 103g = 424m 463yd
Contrast colour two (CC2): 139g = 472m 516yd
NOTE: Due to the use of upcycled yarn, each of these colours is a similar, but different, yarn. Hence the meterage per 100g is different for each. Despite this irregularity, you should use these quantities as a guide.
4mm circular (80cm 30”) or size to obtain gauge.
Plus a set of 3.75mm DPNs and a crochet hook for the i-cord border.
This pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner – includes lace work, changing colour, reading from a chart, and optional i-cord border.
