Winter Nights is a shawl designed specially for advent calendar mini skeins. The pattern is quite simple, with alternating garter stitch and broken rib sections, which makes it suitable for many different types of wooly calendars. You are not limited by yarn weight or number of minis in your set, the pattern will work for all of them! You can also use leftovers or full skeins of yarn.

The sample is made with Pipa Yarns Silky Merino, a fingering weight silk/merino blend. It uses only two alternating colours and there are twelve sections altogether to mimic the Pipa Yarns advent calendar set. I used about 15 g (60 m) of yarn for each section. Each section is to be worked over 2 days of advent.

Yarn: Pipa Yarns Silky Merino (50% merino, 50% silk; 80 m / 87.5 yards per 20 g / 0.7 oz mini skein)

Other notions: darning needle for weaving in loose ends, kitchen scale for weighing your minis if you are not planning to use the full mini skein

Yardage: about 60 m / 65.5 yards per colour for 12 colour shawl of the same size as the sample

Gauge: 22 sts / 44 rows in garter stitch after blocking for the sample
but gauge is not important for this project - use needle size that gives you fabric density you like for shawls

Winter Nights je šátek navržený speciálně pro adventní miniklubíčka. Návod tedy pracuje kromě vlny i s 24 dny adventu, kdy každé dva dny upletete jeden úsek šátku. Návod je jednoduchý, aby nechal vyniknout barevná miniklubíčka. Při pletení budete střídat vroubkové a žebrované úseky. Díky jednoduchosti vzoru je návod vhodný pro spousty různých vlněných kalendářů, nejste nijak limitováni sílou ani množstvím příze, samozřejmě můžete použít i různé zbytky nebo jen jednu či dvě barvy jako originál na úvodní fotce.

Originál byl upleten z příze Pipa Yarns Silky Merino, příze tloušťky fingering ze směsi Merina a hedvábí. Jsou v něm pouze dvě barvy a celkem dvanáct úseků, jako je v adventním kalendáři Pipa Yarns. Každý úsek je upleten ze zhruba 15 g příze, tedy 60 metrů.
