Winter Poppy Hat
This hat is the story of my children. The day I found out I was pregnant with my son, the poppies in our garden blossomed. I think of him every time I see poppies. My daughter came to us from Korea and I always told her she was born in my heart. Both of them are represented here. The coral-ly red yarn reminded me of the poppies, my family and how it grew. Knit in Cascade Superwash Aran Yarn on slightly smaller needles to give a nice warm, windproof fabric. Starts with a Latvian Braid, but instructions for corrugated rib are included. Flower centers can be blank, buttons or French Knots. Buttons and French Knots shown above.

Never more than two colors on a round.

This cap is a great Stash Buster. If your stash has small amounts of aran weights, they can be used interchangeably with the Contrasting Colors below as long as they meet gauge.

Gauge: 18 st x 22 rows = 4 in / 10 cm in stranded stockinette st, slightly stretched.
