Inspired by roses and the everyday joy they bring: surprising us with early buds in spring just when we thought a little bush might not come back after a long winter, delighting us with delicate petals in every colour throughout summer, hanging on in autumn with exquisite late blooms! And in some places, though not here in Canada, even flowering in winter against all odds! I hope this shawl brings you moments of simple joy too, as you create it, and then wear it, whatever the season might be.

Yarn and notions:

  • 2x100g skein of fingering, at least 430-450 yards each (Referred to in the pattern simply as colours 1 and 2)
  • Sample knit in The Lab Fibers Everyday Fingering, colours Flamingo and Sparkle Pop
  • 3 stitch markers, plus a progress marker to identify the front of your work
  • scissors and tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Needles: 3.75mm (US size 5) circular needles (80cm or 32” cable suggested)

Gauge (blocked): 20 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette and garter (24 sts unblocked)
